The one year he had more homers than the rest of the entire league combined. He was babe ruth's idol as a child and with the exception of Maybe Ted Williams..... he was without a doubt the best red sox player ever. Maybe 2nd to ted williams.

He was supposed to be voted in to the inaugeral HOF, but no one knew who he was and they forgot about him. It is a travesty he is not in the HOF..... the HOF is a joke now anyways the pathetic people they've been putting in there over the past 15 years.
JHQ18https://www.blogger.com/profile/16763806597840748700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6521256759224053893.post-6488560120577895152009-05-25T21:49:48.151-05:002009-05-25T21:49:48.151-05:00i am 13 and bucky freeman is my great, great, etc co...i am 13 and bucky freeman is my great, great, etc cousin. At that time the average annual salary of skilled labourers in the United States was $780, roughly $2 a day. Freeman, by contrast, earned $3000 a day.

I think this should be $3000 a year. :)

Wonderful article, though; very interesting! It's good to be reminded that these early sluggers really were that, because those balls were NOT light or easy to hit, so his batting average is even more impressive.genovefahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07521060345872625482noreply@blogger.com
